Cover Reveal- Wounds of War

September 9, 2019 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author Leave a Comment

Sometimes we think that we are able to accomplish something because of the divine help we receive.

Two projects in my life weren’t an easy decision.

Publication of In the light of Seerah was not an easy decision. I felt extreme anxiety and prayed hard. I will admit that I was able to do it because Allah wanted me to do it.

The second is the Publication of Wounds of War. It wasn’t easy either.

Both these books mean responsibility but Alhamdulillah Allah made me do it!

I am revealing the final cover of “Wounds of War.”

Age: 8 onwards (I recommend it for everyone not just the kids)

Book blurb:

When humanity struggles for power and prestige at the expense of its own children, stories come forth from the midst of such terrors as genocide, ethnic cleansing and forceful occupation clothed in innocent faces and tearful voices.

Children are most strongly affected in these dire circumstances. This leads us to the stories of Sara, Fatima, Hammad, and Ali. Their individual stories of heartbreak and pain lead them to Dr. Kamran’s research center, where they have one last opportunity to heal the wounds of war that bleed inside them.

Their lives weave together in this place to show readers that we are not the only ones who have been affected by such terrors. As we survive tragedies to find our world upside down, we all search for a balm to comfort our broken hearts.

Read on to discover if these four orphaned children might heal as they test the ultimate question we often ask ourselves:

Is war the only solution?

Post Reading Activities by Pakistani Kids- Reflective Practices after Reading a Book

July 17, 2019 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author 1 Comment

Post-reading activities can help children develop a deep interest in reading and help them internalize the ideas shared by the author.

These activities can also help them understand that there exist numerous viewpoints in the world. They become more accepting and less judgemental.

These are some of the reflective questions and activities one can ask after the kid is done with reading a book:

Reflective practices after reading a book:

Step 1: Name of the book

Step 2: Name of the author

Step 3: characters and supporting Characters

Step 4: favorite scene and why?

Step 5: If I would be the hero…

Step 6: If I would have to get rid of the antagonist (the villain, the peace breaker in the story)

Step 7: How would I deal with the problem if I suffer from what the hero suffers …

Step 8: I would write a sequel on the hero and name it…

Step 9: The best thing about the story…
Some talented Pakistani kids submitted amazing answers to the above questions. Many of them used the book by Author Ayesha Marfani since the books are becoming their favorites.

A true story about a Fiction tale

July 17, 2018 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author 1 Comment

I want to tell you a story.

Ahmad sat crosslegged gazing intently to the black outlines on the paper. A lot of stuff was spread all around him containing glittered sheets and toddler pants.

His mother lovingly sketched the outline of what looked like a princess.  His strong imagination tolerated all imperfection in the picture and he believed it was a princess despite its rough edges and disappointing drawing.

The weirdest thing was the crown that seemed very big yet it fascinated Ahmad and he decorated it with the material he found suitable.

After decorating the princess with the ordinary things that showed his love for the ordinary things, the paper laid there drying yet the author inside his mom attended to this unique character again and again and the voice told her that this is going to be the next character after “Miss Never Pleased”, “I am truth”, “Peeper” and the “Peeping boy.”

Together they named their creation “big crowned princess” and then they knew that the princess loved ordinary things. The picture became an inspiration and then she came up with a lot of ideas.  She transformed one of the ideas into a story.

Ahmad’s mom had a friend who lived miles away. Her name was Carrie Aulenbacher. Their love of writing brought them together. She shared her work as per her habit with the amazing writing friend who loved the story and the idea and sent the feedback as follows:

It brings tears to my eyes

This is a really powerful tale.  It would be a great story with an amazing lesson.  Don’t just judge a person based on how they look.  Don’t judge what they find precious.  Don’t judge where they see beauty.

Your story has moved me greatly.

Then this story reached Crimson Cloak Publishing USA. They also loved it and soon it was made into a beautiful picture book. Alison Wood did magic with her illustrating capabilities and now I am finally revealing the cover of the book that will be launched on 14th August.

Cover Reveal- I am Full Truth, I am Half Truth, I am Lie

May 26, 2018 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author Leave a Comment

After the success of ‘Miss Never Pleased’ and ‘Tales from the Treasure Chest’, I am giving my readers a new surprise.

It is a new title coming up. You will meet the characters that you haven’t heard of before so who wants to see this beautiful cover and tell me their feelings about it.

About the book:

Name: I am full truth, I am half-truth, I am all lie

Publisher: Crimson Cloak Publishing

Genre: Middle-grade fiction

Target Age: 8 to 13 years

About the story:
I am Half-Truth, I am Full Truth, I am All Lie is the story of three ordinary boys born to three reclusive brothers. The three boys cherish each other’s company and friendship and enjoy their life, though they miss the social hangouts and ordinary pleasures that other boys of their age are accustomed to. They have strong character, yet they have a troubling habit related to truth and lies.

Only when their truth and lies cause misery in their lives and tear them apart, do they understand how important it is to be master of the art of judicious truth.

I am excited and want to know your thoughts on what this cover speaks to you.

Happy Reading!
