Evil within us- Children story

March 20, 2018 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author 1 Comment

Peek inside the Treacherous Land

‘The Scavengers’ all danced out in rage. That day they had a meeting in the land named as ‘Treacherous Land’. Treacherous Land is the darkest and dampest place that exists in this world. It is covered with spiny thorns and bushes that seem deadly. The thick, mist covers the sky permanently and rain never falls in there. The feeling of gloom invades the land and enters into every soul that steps into it. The scariest creatures live in there who had adequately named themselves as ‘The Scavengers’.

The meeting started when the leader of the Treacherous Land walked into the room towards its burning throne and spoke with a voice that seemed to crack the skull, “I am the leader and proud to be the ugliest one with an eye above the head and two black horns. My gaze makes you shudder. I emit the scorches and flares. I kill humility, empathy, sacrifice,…”

Before the leader could complete his speech, the creature on the left-hand side interrupted. He sat close to the leader making him noticeable.

In the Treacherous Land, no one let the others complete what they want to say; not even the leader is lucky enough to get this chance.

“I am made of fire. I love when my eyes, nose, and lips all emit fire. Today I took my selfie and it was lovely. This time, I will post my selfie for the world to see…”

On the right of the leader was a creature with scald marks on his body and he started in between by complaining as always, “Pity for me as the smoke emits from every hole in my body and I can’t get my selfie right. I am thin, thinnest of any creature in this land.

He also sat close to the leader which made him feel special.

Gathered around the leader were more ugly faces. The creature with weapons of most horrible type attached to each and every apparent body part such as saws, nails, guns, knives, and the bow was the commander-in-chief who said, “Oh you silly stop complaining, we are on the verge of getting devastated.”

The cartoon face with greed and selfishness emanating from his eyes said, “It runs a shiver down the spine.”

The creature with the thorny body and rusted needle-like thorns protected the group. He was the filthiest of them all and spoke with best manners but the underlying meaning of the speech was cruel. He said, “I can destroy love and relationships very easily so I ask you all to act so…”

And someone interrupted again. The discussion got intense and then the ritual started, ‘The ritual of dance. ‘They danced for hours and hours like mad tripping each other and shouting like maniacs.

All these creatures of the Treacherous Land were frightening but their names were even more terrifying than their physical appearance

The leader was called Pride. The creature on the left-hand side was Jealousy and on the right-hand side was Anger. The creature with too many weapons was named as Lie. The cute faced with greedy eyes was called Deceitful by his fellows. The one with the thorny body was called Backbiter.

The mission of these creatures was even more terrifying than their names. It was to wipe the good and spread the evil.
