Small Actions-Big Reactions

Small actions-Big reactions

We are the people of words not of conduct. We ignore the ignited way of Prophet Muhammad in every aspect because things seem tough to us. Prophet Muhammad’s way was the way of conduct, and this was the reason that we can hear the Azan in every corner of the universe. His period of transformation lasted 23 years which are very less to revolutionize the thought process, the economy, the culture, the social life, and faith yet, his conduct made an everlasting impact on everyone he met, and he revolutionized the world.

Even today some Muhammadis’ follow the path and become the inspiration for us. An inspirational story happened recently. This story took place in a small society of a mega city. The society will forever cherish its luck; as the disbeliever roaming in the streets turned towards Allah with his belief stronger than that of mountains.

It is a story of a sweeper named Lakshman who was a non-believer. Lakshman banged doors every day drenched in thirst. He asked for cold water. Cold water is a great blessing as when I hear the Muazzin indicating the opening of fast; I feel nothing in life is more worthy than a glass of cold water.  People sometimes ignored him, or sometimes gave him a glass full of tap water. Some made him wait as they searched for the abandoned glass somewhere in the corner to give him water.

An old lady in that society returned his call for water differently. Being a true admirer and follower of Prophet Muhammad, she made him sit and presented him a glass of Tang juice and then it became a custom. He banged the door; she gave the glass of tang. No one knew that such a little act of that lady could do wonders.

One day Lakshman came to the old lady’s door shouting, “Ammah, make me recite the Kalima. I love Muslims and Islam.”

Yes, a glass of Tang not only quenched his thirst but watered his soul with love of Islam. The lady was bewildered. She made the arrangement and took him to Mosque. Not only Lakshman but his wife and lovely kids also came into the fold of Islam.

His path was illuminated. He is now practicing Islam and loves his religion. The journey of Lakshman to Ahmad is food for thought for those people who neglect the small act of kindness and humanity. Ahmad is still sweeping the floors of the society with the same zest as ever as he needs to make his living, but now when his soul meets Allah, he will be among blessed ones.

For all those who want to spread Islam, be a real picture of it yourself and believe conduct will do it all. May Allah shower his blessings.
