Video Teaser of the upcoming title Wounds of War by Author Ayesha Marfani

September 11, 2019 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author Leave a Comment

Wounds of War is the eighth book by Author Ayesha Marfani. The book has gained instant attention of bloggers and reviewers due to the topic sensitivity.

About the book:

Age: 8 onwards (I recommend it for everyone, not just the kids)

Book blurb:

When humanity struggles for power and prestige at the expense of its own children, stories come forth from the midst of such terrors as genocide, ethnic cleansing and forceful occupation clothed in innocent faces and tearful voices.

Children are most strongly affected in these dire circumstances. This leads us to the stories of Sara, Fatima, Hammad and Ali. Their individual stories of heartbreak and pain lead them to Dr. Kamran’s research center, where they have one last opportunity to heal the wounds of war that bleed inside them.

Their lives weave together in this place to show readers that we are not the only ones who have been affected by such terrors. As we survive tragedies to find our world upside down, we all search for a balm to comfort our broken hearts.

Read on to discover if these four orphaned children might heal as they test the ultimate question we often ask ourselves:

Is war the only solution?

This is the video teaser of the book:

Post Reading Activities by Pakistani Kids- Reflective Practices after Reading a Book

July 17, 2019 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author 1 Comment

Post-reading activities can help children develop a deep interest in reading and help them internalize the ideas shared by the author.

These activities can also help them understand that there exist numerous viewpoints in the world. They become more accepting and less judgemental.

These are some of the reflective questions and activities one can ask after the kid is done with reading a book:

Reflective practices after reading a book:

Step 1: Name of the book

Step 2: Name of the author

Step 3: characters and supporting Characters

Step 4: favorite scene and why?

Step 5: If I would be the hero…

Step 6: If I would have to get rid of the antagonist (the villain, the peace breaker in the story)

Step 7: How would I deal with the problem if I suffer from what the hero suffers …

Step 8: I would write a sequel on the hero and name it…

Step 9: The best thing about the story…
Some talented Pakistani kids submitted amazing answers to the above questions. Many of them used the book by Author Ayesha Marfani since the books are becoming their favorites.

Illustration Activity conducted for Pakistani Kids by Author Ayesha Marfani

July 15, 2019 By Ayesha Marfani-Muslim Author 2 Comments

I am an author and have a lovely fan base. These lovely fans are very eager to learn and try new things.  Recently, I shared one of my story with them and they came up with amazing illustrations.

Read the story and appreciate the young illustrators in the comments.

White flower and black butterfly

The tired and weary black butterfly flew to the red rose. It said, “Please let me sit on you.”

The red rose lashed the butterfly saying, “Look at your ugly colour. I won’t let you sit on me.”

The black butterfly cried and flew to the distant land.

***

It saw a yellow sunflower. It loved the colour. The butterfly asked the sunflower, “Can I rest on your lovely petals.”

The sunflower gnarled saying, “Oh you black ugly creature, look at my beautiful colour and see your black colour. Go away”

The butterfly felt hurt and took flight.

***

It reached the beautiful lands of Hawaii. There it saw the beautiful violet flowers. They seemed dancing with the wind. It reached one of the purple-colored flowers that looked soft and delicate.

It said, “O delicate flower, please let me curl on your soft leaves.”

The flower spat the absorbed dewdrop on the face of the butterfly saying, “How dark and gloomy you look, go away.”

****

The black butterfly felt shaky on such hate and flew to find another home. It flew and reached a garden with moist soil. It had beautiful blue Hydrangea. The flower looked glowing in the sun. It reached the flower to ask the permission for napping on its curled petals when it overheard the flower saying to the Pink Hydrangea, “I hope that unsightful butterfly never comes near to us. It is so black, and if it sat for us, no one would love to look at us.”

The pink Hydrangea replied, “I wish it never curse me with its awful body.”

The butterfly lost all hopes of finding a beautiful house.

***

While it was sitting with teary eyes thinking why she was so black; her eyes caught a glorious sight. It saw a beautiful white lily dancing with joy. It had dew drops settled on its petals. The butterfly was lost in the glory of the lily.

The lily noticed someone looking at it keenly. When it turned to meet the staring eyes, it was shocked to see a beautiful black butterfly. The lily said to itself, this butterfly is amazing, look at its velvety black wing and the silver lining on them. I have never seen such black beauty.’

It stared at the butterfly wishing to start the conversation. It wanted the butterfly to touch its petals with its velvety soft wings. The butterfly cried and said, “You might be wondering how black, ugly and defaced I look, of course, I will never curse your beauty by curling on your petals.”

The white lily felt sad and answered, “No, I was thinking what beautiful velvety wings you have and I love the silver lines on them. I just wished if you would like to make me your resting place and together we can add beauty to each other.”

The butterfly felt overwhelmed and sat on the white petals. The combination felt amazing and became the greatest attraction for the passersby. People loved the combination so much that they designed their homes and dresses and cars on this theme.

***

Red rose, violets, sunflower, blue and pink Hydrangea all wanted the butterfly to sit on them so that people may notice them as well. The black butterfly added to the beauty of each of them. People loved the combination of black with red, black with violet, black with yellow, black with pink and black with blue.

The butterfly felt happy as he had so many places to rest and it loved everyone equally yet the love it had for white lily made them look the best together.

Peeper and the Peeping Boy:

Target age: 7 to 14

Publisher: Crimson Cloak Publishing Group ( A traditional American Publisher)

About the book:
Akram is a nosy little boy. His friend Peeper is a Jinn, banished from his home among demons for his tendency to empathy and kindness. Both are shocked at the injustices of the world and wish to right wrongs. Together they spy upon neighbours in Akram’s street and discover sadness and trouble behind the closed doors of the various houses. They use Peeper’s special powers to help, but their efforts result in an uproar, and they pray for things to be set right.

A charming story of concern for others and the world, Peeper and the Peeping Boy shows the dangers of being too nosy and the danger of making hasty judgments without knowing both sides of a situation. It teaches the wisdom of informed action and shows that even the worst of people can be led into a better path.
